Here are two easy things you can do to make getting dressed a little easier:
1. Don't be afraid to accommodate your child if you can.
- Decide what you’re willing to live with and focus on the things left over that are truly impacting daily participation.
2. Find ways to practice through play during “neutral” times.
- This means not when you need to actually leave the house. Instead, practice on the weekends or after school. Start off small, like wearing socks for 1 minute while you dance to a silly song.
Hmm...Aren't sure if it's just a sensory quirk or a something more to support? Listen to the episode where I give some examples between the two.
And this is important: I also discuss why these clothing sensitivities are more than just an irritation for your child and bring to light some of the ways this can impact their behavior!
