Keep reading below to learn how you can use the email service most effectively.

What kinds of questions could you ask in an email support package?

This service works best for straightforward questions, in which I will reply with my clinical opinion, personal experiences as a parent to a neurodivergent child and also direct you to any other related resources that may be helpful to you .

🚩If I feel like I can't properly support you and your needs via email, I will always be transparent upfront and refund your money back. However, no refunds are offered after my email responses have been received.

Some examples of questions this service is best suited for includes:

-"I have a 7 year old sensory seeker who loves to move and always touches things. What are your top suggestions for classroom tools and accommodations for this?"

- "I recently found out my 4 year old is neurodivergent and I have family and friends who 'don't see it' could you help me come up with simple ways to explain it?"

- 'I need to keep my child safe during the meltdowns because they get aggressive but I have a hard time knowing how to explain this to them at a neutral time?"

- "I know my child has a different brain and I want to support them. What kind of professional should I start with and how do I find them?"

- "My child just got assessed by an OT / I just got my child's IEP and I need help understanding it from a 3rd party, can I send it to you?"

Some examples of questions that are not suitable for email responses (and are better for 1:1 calls include):

 - "My child is a picky eater, can you give me tips?" : while I can't go into depth via email on this important topic, I can answer more straight forward subtopic questions like "What are your favorite food play games for introducing fruits?"

- "  I don't know what to do during my child's meltdowns please help": Meltdowns and emotional regulation are huge topics and better addressed in a 1:1 zoom call package, but I can answer more straight forward, subtopic questions like "Can you give me some ideas to encourage my child to practice deep breathing or heavy work?"

"We have bedtime battles everyday, how can I help my child?" - bedtime comes with so many layers and would also be better discussed at length in 1:1 calls. But, via email, I can give you some general tips for adjusting your bedtime routine, helping you brainstorm motivational games or tricks to get your child to cooperate more.

My child is behind on gross motor /fine motor skills, what activities can I do with them? - Behind a screen, i wouldn't be able to do this question justice because I can't directly assess your child. I can give you tips, tricks and direct you to resources for a hyper-specific set of skills that you know you want to help your child with, for example, activities to help teach your child to trace letters.

S.E.

I scheduled a call with Laura to discuss my 3.5yr old + her frequent meltdowns. While not sensory related, they do impact our daily life quite a lot. Laura was able to give me some more tools in dealing with my daughter during + after her meltdowns that I’ve begun implementing + hope will help with consistent use. Laura was so sweet + informative + I’m so glad I reached out to her!

Working with Laura was so empowering. She gave really great suggestions I hadn’t thought of and helped me feel Heard and supported in what can feel like an isolating journey. After my call with Laura, I created some social stories, implemented some new emotional regulation tools with my son and built up our “heavy work” toolbox (and learned to keep it simple!!) and we are seeing improvement! It was really nice to speak with a professional who GETS IT and doesn’t make you feel like you have to defend your choices or over explain your experiences. Even after our call she made herself available for a follow up question I had which I really appreciated!
